About Grand Island

Grand Island lies in the heart of the Niagara River, between Canada and the United States, Buffalo and Niagara Falls. And yes, it's an Island, the size of Manhattan, covered in trees, parks, quaint restaurants, trails, kayak launches, boat marinas, and leafy residential neighborhoods. Despite its peaceful setting, Grand Island is just 10 minutes from the edge of Niagara Falls (the mist looms over our north-western half), 10 minutes from a Sabres Game in Buffalo, and 10 minutes from some of the best shops and museums our region has to offer.

Over our history, we've been a resort town, where local aristocrats like Grover Cleveland spent the summer, a lumber town, covered in white oaks, and even a colonial battleground-Burnt Ship Creek. Today, we're maybe a little bit of all of that, but mostly we're home to over 20,000 residents who are proud to call Grand Island home. We look forward to our future as a center of conservation, health, and wellness in Western New York.

From all of us, we look forward to seeing you soon here, on Grand Island!
