The Town Board of the Town of Grand Island amended Chapter 155 of the Town of Grand Island Code, Flood Damage Prevention, to include the new Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) and Flood Insurance Study (FIS) that were recently completed by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) into the Town of Grand Island's floodplain management regulations.
FEMA provides a Flood Map Changes Viewer to aid in identifying any changes in Flood Hazard Areas.
1. A "Welcome" message appears upon entering the FMCV. This message provides helpful contextual information. Please read the message and then select "OK" at the bottom right-hand corner to continue.
2. Address Search Bar appears in the left-hand corner, enter your address including city and state. You may need to zoom in to see the details of your property. The colors, as stated in the Legend, have the following meanings:
- Blue: Flood Hazard Zone
- Yellow: Special Flood Hazard Area Increase
- Purple: Special Flood Hazard Area Decrease
